May seemed to stretch out a really long time...
At the beginning of the month, the kids/grandkids got the masks I had sent to them and we got these great pics!
Cassidy thought her mask was a fashion statement and wanted to wear it all the time!
In Austin's family, the older kids liked theirs...
...but Mackenzie was more delighted by the fruit snacks I put in with the masks!
We celebrated Lori's Birthday by taking her and Carole over to the TULIP FESTIVAL that had just opened up to the public.
Scott's job was "pusher" and he did a great job getting Carole all around the gardens.
We were worried that this late in the tulip season that it would not be as pretty as in the past.
Not so. It was really lovely and it made Carole's day to get out of the house! It made OUR day to be with family in such a beautiful place.
We got all the backyard furniture set up. Lots more work in the yard.
We removed the other Hoopsii Blue Spruce you see in the far right and replaced it with a dogwood shrub.
We really like the patio area with the lights and such.
Scott and I were entertained by this chalk drawing by someone's home in the area.
One of our favorite outings this year was to the Bear River Bird Refuge up by Brigham City.
We felt like we were nature photographers, as close as we got to many really cool birds!
This pelican flew over us as we drove up to the view tower and landed nearby.
Scott found some cool swallow nests by one of the buildings there too.
We found a few new birds on this outing.
This is a double crested black cormorant.
This is an American avocet.
We saw sandhill crane closer than we usually do by our parkway trail.
And the snowy egret that we also see a lot of.
Yellow headed blackbirds are sort of pesky birds in our neighborhood, but this one looks like a model.
And we lucked out and spotted this beautiful great blue heron right by the road!
It was a wonderful outing for us!
Our flowers are so happy in the gardens this time of year!
My new rose bushes are big and full of blooms.
We got a couple of clematis that will add a nice height feature.
And one of our favorite, the columbine, has had prolific blooms!!
One day Scott was working at home and Tom Holmoe from BYU Athletics stopped by to drop off a "Cougar Tail" and tee shirt to Braden as a thank-you for being patient with the pandemic times.
Braden and McKenna came over to pick the things up in person and enjoyed a MOVIE NIGHT with us in the backyard! It was chilly, but very fun!
We met Breanna and Elliot up at Liberty Park in SLC to go to the Aviary there.
Lots of very interesting birds!
The roaming peacock was showing off.
And we spent a long time looking at their pelicans.
It was a really fun outing for us with the kids!
I made chocolate chip cookie bags for the kids in my Temple Prep class to come pick up after our final Zoom class.
The idea was that they would come grab them and go.
Really cute idea about sharing kindness!
So, the kids mostly all came at the same time and we had some VERY NOT DISTANCED SOCIALIZING! They are so silly!
However, we did have an older people picnic dinner...bring your own food...with our friends and that was a lot of fun!
And, for my BIRTHDAY, Braden and McKenna brought over Costa Vida for dinner! YUM!
We are so glad we can see our kids outside!
We are loving our outdoor area for movies. We can distance people and enjoy being together.
We hosted one night for the Temple Prep Class with our neighbor Ty before his mission and the next night with our YSA Ward.
The neighborhood celebrated High School Graduations with a parade through the neighborhood.
I am tossing treats to the kids here!
This little guy flew at us in our yard one night after a walk. We got the butterfly nets and Scott easily caught him in a tree and we put him in a cage I had for preschool.
We are not sure what to do if no one claims him...
We went on another outing up to Antelope Island to hike and look for wildlife. It was really beautiful!
We saw these buffalo on our hike along with some meadow type birds and pronghorn.

Back home, we have our own little quail who visits the yard on occasion.
And out on the parkway trail we are following the progress of the baby sandhill crane...there are several families. We are watching pelicans that are nesting and awaiting the babies.
I hosted a play date with each of my two Pre-K classes.
They loved getting to come and play and meet the bird.
They each got to make a boat to take home.
They loved exploring the backyard too.
It was really great to see them again.
One of them brought these amazing cookies for "Teacher."
And my latest project has been...
MORE MASKS!
I made a mask for Scott out of cool newspaper fabric we found and he wore it at work and the HR guy saw it and asked if I would be able to make a bunch for them.
So, I got all the materials and sewed 92 for them and they turned out really professional!
I have enjoyed sewing masks for all the family.

Scott and I were blessed to get to attend a temple sealing at the end of the month with Melissa Chord and Andrew Fairbanks.
We actually were their photographers for the day since they could not have any come on site.
We were the only ones in the temple with the President, Matron and Recorder. It was just beautiful and peaceful and perfect!
Then, the last Sunday of the month we got to start Sacrament meetings in our YSA ward. It was really sweet to see most in masks and the sacrament passed by gloved and masked young men. It was a wonderful meeting and fun to meet new youth afterwards and chat a while!
It was a good month! We kept very busy and walked A LOT and have transitioned into this new way of life very well. We look forward to more interaction in the future, but have appreciated being able to go to the gym and Church and meet outdoors with friends and family. We are truly blessed!
