SEPTEMBER 2020 kept us hopping.
Scott was put in as Bishop of our local Young Single Adult Ward. We do love the kids!
Scott also got to cover the ground-breaking for the new Orem Temple. As you can see, not many got to attend.
We drove the Nebo Loop and it was just stunning with fall colors! Took a nice hike there and got some great bird pics as well.
We drove to Cascade Springs another day.
Fall is one of my favorite times of the year.
Hiked Rock Canyon with my friend Debbie Ledingham this month too. She is fun to talk to and loves hiking. It was an amazing fall day!
We have missed going to our BYU Football games this year.
The first one, we watched in Lori's backyard.

I did want to show the spread of food. I made some great blue pretzel rods and chips and snacks.
We have loved walking in the evenings and seeing the most lovely sunsets. This one was so pretty over the marsh.
We watch for birds a lot. We took off across a field one day trying to get closer to the lake...those are pelicans and shorebirds in the distance.
Notice Scott is muddy up to the knee from crossing a canal where he went in knee deep.
It was SO STINKY we had to get air fresheners for his car afterwards.
Sometimes Braden and McKenna humor us by walking with us. They do not like the bugs that sometimes accompany walking by a shore though.
We love their company!
So Braden told us about a blog he is getting recipes from each week and he is cooking as McKenna is going to grad school each evening.
We have had so much fun trying new recipes!

School keeps me busy about 75% of the time.
I took my class on a field trip to a park one day and it was so good to get outside and play!
The next field trip I arranged to meet up with one of our police officer Dads to see his car and have him talk to the kids about safety.
We met outside at the Rec Center so we could see the firetrucks and ambulances parked there as well.
Our last field trip was to the Pumpkin Patch. One little student really wanted me to go down the big slide with her...and from then on out, ALL the kids wanted a turn! It was a beautiful day!
There is nothing better than getting to choose your own pumpkin!
OK...so since we go out birding, I will share some of this month's favorites.
SPOTTED SANDPIPER- Airport Dike Road (notice it is not spotted) Had a hard time identifying it because since there are no spots, you just do not think to look at that species as a possibility.
GREAT BLUE HERON- Bear River Bird Refuge
WESTERN GREBES- Bear River
This parent was feeding the noisy, fussy baby and here, they both have the fish in their beaks.
It was amazing to watch it all happen!
We finally saw a GREAT EGRET
We have been seeing the Snowy Egret all summer, but this one is HUGE!
We are learning that the YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER is so common in the fall as it migrates through. We have seen it about everywhere we go.
Yes, it has a yellow spot on it's tail.
In our own backyard, we have a visiting SAY'S PHOEBE. Very pretty rufous tummy.
Caught this RED-TAILED HAWK in flight near the Spanish Fork River. Thought it was a different hawk from the cry we heard, but that tail begs to differ!
Hawks have so many "morphs" that it is hard to find which stage they are in to identify them.
Out on Skipper Bay Trail, we found this amazing GREAT-HORNED OWL up close and personal
My favorite this month was this STELLAR JAY up in Payson Canyon. We got pretty close to get this photo and it was so pretty to see flying too.
