A FUN VISIT

We had a fun surprise on July 5 this year. Jenna's former roommate and running teammate from BYU, Ali was in town for the July 4 parade etc. and stopped over to say hello.

It was so fun to see Ali and her husband Lee and baby Zac (not sure if I spelled that right) and to see what fun things Zac was interested in...to prepare us for Carter coming in a few weeks.

It made our day that they would take the time to check in with us! We do love and miss our kids' friends as they grow up and move on! THANKS ALI FOR TAKING THE TIME TO COME OVER!!!

The Origin of "Piggy Orange"

Our own kids may even need a reminder why Scott chose this interesting name for our blog.

When we were freshmen at BYU living in Helaman Halls, you had to pick up your mail in the Cannon Center. This became the means that Scott and I -- as reacquainted friends - could send each other little things (most of them a little strange).

One day, he found an orange that had a noticeable snout on the end . . . add a couple of magic marker eyes and, voila, you have a creature that even Saxton Freymann (author of "How Are You Peeling") would be inspired by. This orange made its way into my mail slot, and there was no question as to whom would have sent it. Scott was always a prankster.

This orange was passed back and forth between us, even after we returned back to Iowa and Colorado, through the mail. It never molded, but it definitely turned into a petrified orange! It is probably in some dinosaur museum this very day!! -- Cheryl
